(4,741 posts)As comfort reads, and that includes the mysteries with the misnomer classification of 'cosy.' I can appreciate the cosy feel of the books *outside* the murder(s), but I cannot find a way to reconcile violent death with the likes of kittens and hot cocoa. It just won't happen.
To me comfort reading would be books like Little Women, Anne of Green Gables or Elizabeth Gaskell's Cranford--all those slice of old-time rural life books.

For something cozy and fun, try his other series: Baby Ganesh Mysteries.
The first book opens with a retiring police officer receiving a baby elephant as a retirement gift from his sort of strange uncle. Hilarity ensues. There are 7 of these I think.
I love these books. They are a delight.
Also from that list: Cold Comfort Farm is a blast and the Wodehouse book would have to be fun because the BBC series The Blandings is based on that book.
