Fascinating book - "Sophie's World" - I am reading it to my wife - we are taking it in bite sized

pieces. Anyone here read it/are familiar with it?

It is essentially a run through the history of philosophy, but wrapped in somewhat of a drama, using a teen age Norwegian girl as the lead. I am finding that reading it now is really provocative, trying to figure out why we are here (trump and his impacts), but also trying to put where we are as a race in context in history (just a small problem, I know!)

I've always gravitated to gardening, science, etc...but was unprepared for how mind boggling philosophy can be!

Will for sure have to read this. I took a couple of semesters of Philosophy in college, long ago. This definitely offers an entirely different take on things. Fun!

But I don't think it worked. I don't know that I finished it.

one chapter or partial chapter at a time - then we discuss and ponder.

But it is a LOT of info and boggles the mind - if it was just me reading it to myself I am not sure how that would go.

An audio book taken in small bites could work as well.

I've found reading aloud to my wife benefits us both - she knits and listens, I read and absorb - we've done dozens and dozens of books that way going on 5 or more years.

Best one still is the Raj Quartet by Paul Scott (Jewel in the Crown PBS series was based on it) - four books, over 2000 pages, and it flew by!

Sophie's World is unfamiliar to me but sounds great. I love philosopy and metaphysics. I'm especially intrigued that even quantum physicists are saying we are living in a holographic world.
