The Fortunate Fall by Raphael Carter

is a weirdly enlightening scifi ... I'm hesitant to call it scifi, but more like as the NY Times describes as "speculative fiction" ... please no spoilers, I'm down to the last 20-30 pgs... but did you read it/ enjoy it?
I'm slotting this as a loaner to some of my my more intuitive reading friends... written 1996, still relevant today

I'd never heard of it before. It takes place in the 24th-century, after the fall of a US world empire, and seems quite prescient. It analyzes the role of the media in packaging, selling, and thus shaping history and historical truth. Surprisingly, Carter hasn't written any more novels, only short stories. He is also credited with creating the first site to be named a weblog. Thanks for making us aware of it.

spent some time looking about on the web for reviews and reading them too ...
there were only 2 publications, 1 hardback followed by a softcover, and supposedly rare, but is available at Amazon of course... I picked mine up free at the recycling swap shop 😊

I'll definetely reread this one, just need to let it percolate abit
