KTIV: NY holding on to cigarettes bound for Winnebago distributor

ALBANY, N.Y. (KTIV) - Officials in New York state are challenging a court order telling them to release a truckload of untaxed cigarettes with ties to a Siouxland Indian tribe. The shipment of 26,000 cartons of "Signal" brand cigarettes was stopped on its way from the St. Regis Mohawk Reservation to HCI Distributors, a subdivision of the Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska.
