Monday morning and the scammers are out in force

With an email:

You sent a payment of $265.05 USD to Tech America

It may take a few moments for this transaction to appear in your account.

This transation is set on auto debit for future payments from your Acc. -xxxx.

You may contact us at (973)536-2648 to dispute this transaction.

=====

No I did not. Have no idea who Tech America is And I have no "account."

I was almost curious to call that number again, to see, where it goes. I suppose they would ask for my credit card number to "confirm" that I did not send them money.

Just makes me mad that they target seniors who may not "remember" such automatic accounts.

I’ve got a couple text that have to be scams. One was about my unemployment account. I retired 19 years ago. The area code was Colorado and I’m in Michigan.

Frauds aimed at older adults are becoming more creative. “Scammers stay on top of whatever is new, such as the popularity of Zoom, COVID-19 vaccines and online shopping,” and then move fast to create ploys that best fit the moment, says Amy Nofziger, AARP's director of fraud victim support. Here are nine such frauds happening widely right now.

This one for "only" $179.60.

I don't have an account with PayPal and it seems that they have been covering the country.

Searching for this phone number on google was rich
