My health insurance did not want to pay for one of the new medications my doctor ordered
so my pharmacy called me to say they could apply some ‘discount card’ to it.

My copay will be $10.

I said "Heck yeah!"

5. I've used GoodRx at a CVS, saved a bunch.

It was much better (for a particular drug) than my Medicare Part D insurance.

4. Check out the discount cards

Martin Sheen advertises one on TV.
The two I know are GoodRx and Singlecare. I have used GoodRx twice where Medicare was not going to pay for a prescription.
You should check them out if your insurance coverage is not good or if your carrier turns something down.
My brother had a scrip that his VA insurance didn't want to pay and it was going to cost him over $100 for a month. He was going to appeal it and go without if they didn't pay it, but when he checked with one of the cards he got it for $18.

Just google "prescription discount cards." You can download a temporary card, there is no real membership or cost to use it, and it might save you some money.
