Although I’m sure most health insurers could squeeze out a little more in the circumstances, I’ll give them credit for offering premium cuts to customers. I really get ticked at phone, car and home insurance, cable, etc., where you have to threaten to change service providers to get a concession.

Something about that many plans at certain population centers.

And, worse come to worse, I do carry long term policy.

will be every bit as good for long term hospital care as original Medicare. Plus, Advantage plans tend to cover a bunch of stuff not covered by just Medicare. You would need to look at the details of a specific plan to be certain.

The Medicare website can compare plans, including original medicare, for costs. Most medicare advantage plans have a maximum yearly outlay, after which the plan pays 100%. Long term hospital care is covered to at least the extent of original medicare.
There are no limits in original medicare. Long term unskilled care is not covered by medicare or medicare advantage plans.
Many advantage plans also cover dental, vision, and/or drugs.
The main problem with advantage plans is that most arer HMO's or PPO's and do restrict providers. That hasn't been a major problem with any plan I have had.
