I don't have the pleasure of farming presently and am a committed vegetarian, I would love to raise calves and cows again...

... but I have always wanted a small rural property (maybe 10 acres or so) with a couple of goats and/or sheep. Cows are so big they scare me up close.

But I have always lived in Pennsylvania around dairy farms and I just love other people's cows.

Heck even if I had chickens they would just be basically for pets. I just love critters.

That made me think of an admonishment my father used on me a lot in my youth. He told the story about a bull calf that had been locked up in a barn all winter and in the spring when he was let out he behaved just like these cows, kicking up his heels and and running off over the hill. The moral of the story was, yes we know we have over protected you, but don't go getting too frisky. It didn't work. HA. Loved the video, thanks!

cows, sheep, goats, and horses, but...

it's been snowing off and on for awhile every night, and it doesn't look much like spring.

But this morning on my way out, I saw what looked like the biggest jack rabbit ever. Looking again, I think it was a momma just about ready to have her litter because the bunny wasn't as light on its feet as they usually are.

In other news, some idiot abandoned a white rabbit here and we're trying to find the poor thing after Kid ran it off last night.
