Welcome. Hope you don't mind taking your turn milking goats. 
Be glad to take a turn at any chores..good, bad, or dirty...
That one isn't the worst or the dirtiest on the farm by any stretch. But my wife refuses. 
an ice storm. Not too bad and hopefully will remain that way but it is so hard on the animals. My goats are tucked safely away with food and their igloos in the shed. The horses have stalls they move in and out of but they are horrid because of the freezing and thawing and my inability to keep up with the cleaning but they can and do get out of the ice and wind and cold. I have to get up there with my dog, hope the hay barn opens and drag several bales of hay up to the barn for feeding, clean if I can get them out of the stalls for a bit but if not there is always tomorrow. I am usually later than most people because I am a musician and my hours are not the normal farm hours. I work late sometimes 6 nights a week then weeks without so I just stay late so until summer I am not an early riser during the working months of September through April but you would likely be one, most are.
It is hard work but very rewarding. I am getting on now, 65 now and it is harder for me to even get everything done daily. Farm hands are scarce around here so I do it all myself, my husband is not interested. 
Keeps me young, gives me lots of critters to love and care for and that is good for my soul. Plus the dark nights when you can see the Milky Way, those are amazing.
My favorite things about being out here are the wildflowers in the pastures in the spring and summer (last year there were none because it was so very dry), the birds that I feed and log into my books (last year very few birds at all because it was very hot and dry), paddling out into the middle of the pond and tying off to read where no one can bother me (I put duck decoys out to tie off on, they look better than a styrofoam float).
Now I killed a little time writing this because I do not want to go out in this weather but it must be done. If you ever get a farm find out what keeps you warm and get a good pair of ice walkers! You will never be sorry.
