(11,536 posts)He is white. He is rich. And, in this country, that is all you need.

(26,454 posts)We know what he means by protests, but you can't arrest or prosecute him for saying it. He is not - yet - calling for an attack on a target like he did on Jan 6. He has learned from that.
But we know what he wants his followers to do. They know what he wants. So we have been alerted by his talk. It is up to police and National Guard to be prepared to deal with the upcoming violence. It will happen. You can be sure of it.

(55,805 posts)He'll have more control over public opinion now if he's arrested than he will when the full investigation plays out. Today he has more time for the protests to build public opinion to rescue him. When the Jan 6 committee completes its work, the whole plot will be laid bare and he will have no bargaining power or room to maneuver.
Surprised KO didn't pick up on it.

(13,538 posts)This "arrest him now!" stuff just plays right into his hands
I'd rather yell "Bankrupt him NOW!"

(13,538 posts)And DC would be far better prepared for the next one
Maybe they'd start shooting as soon as violence began. THAT would have ended 1.0 form the jump

(3,588 posts)Against the United States as well as indirect calls for violence against the prosecutors who are investigating him. Those should be levied against him ASAP, IMO. Dont give him time to gin up his lunatic cult.
