Like it or not, this is the face of the gun rights movement.

As are the gunners who responded here! You guys are the best allies we gun regulators have!

All I can think about is will there be a shooting.

(14,559 posts)My post was asking for comment from the denizens of the Gungeon, the resident DU promoters of gun rights and the fictitious interpretation of the 2nd Amendment.

(32,536 posts)That horrendous "Heller" nightmare.
Oh god, I just read something here that made me sick to my gut.

(49,445 posts)I don't know why you keep expecting gun owners to experience group shame or mass guilt over owning AR-15, either regular or "fun size". It's not going to happen, it shouldn't happen, and you're just driving up your blood pressure.
All I know is that whenever you try to do this mass shaming thing, you drive up gun sales instead of down.
There is nothing immoral, shameful, or unethical about owning a gun, AR-15 or otherwise. Glocks are used to kill far more people per year than AR-15s but you don't really seem to want to ban "safe action" pistols, nor expect the millions of people that own "safe action" pistols to feel shame and guilt over the thousands killed annually with them.

(14,559 posts)And to make my point.
"Fun size"? Really? Intentionally skirting the intent of the law by manufacturing a 'pistol' AND the 'accessory' that makes it an NFA weapon and then marketing them together under a fraudulent interpretation of the 2nd Amendment is 'fun size'? You don't see anything "immoral, shameful, (sic) or unethical about that? Of course not!
As far as your parting shot about not wanting to ban "safe action" pistols (safe? hell, guns ain't safe) your selective memory is showing. I have repeatedly and continually called for the banning of all semiautomatic weapons with removable magazines of all kinds. You know that. It just doesn't meet the needs of this particular exchange.
This is the face of gun rights and it needs to be shown to the public more often.
Thank you for helping me out with that.
Yeah, "fun size", as in candy bars. You know... the small ones are called "fun size"? I didn't think I would have to explain this to an American.
And once again you're getting all butthurt because something you don't like is legal. The ATF may change its legal opinion on "arm brace" or whatever they're called, but I choose to not worry about it. Frankly, I don't care if they're made illegal or not because I doubt AR-15 pistols will ever be much more than a novelty. And if you want to ban arm braces, go right ahead. I'm not going to argue with you or defend them. I personally think the definition of a handgun is a gun you can shoot with only your hands touching the gun, so I have ZERO issue with outlawing pistols with arm braces.
Yeah, it's sort of a short-barreled rifle, but the only issue with that is that 88 years ago somebody decided that rifles with barrels shorter than 16" required a Federal tax stamp and extra paperwork, and maybe in modern times somebody kinda sorta got around this.
If the classification of "short barreled rifle" didn't exist there would be no issue for you to be morally outraged over.
Regarding the pistol comment, it was a plural "you", not you, AndyS, specifically. If it helps, replace it with "y'all" in my previous comment.

(1,666 posts)Then write better laws. It isnt skirting the law. It is either legal or illegal. If it is legal, it is not against the law. If it is illegal, it is. If they are doing something not covered by the law you like, you wrote it badly.
Maybe they just brainstorm better than you.

(14,559 posts)fucks. It's funny how I can't buy sudafed in quantity because it's part of making an illegal substance but it's okay to do the same with gunz.
Yet the gun culture is intent in exoloiting these minutea and seem to get away with manufacturing things that are against the law to own. Gunz is so special.

(2,569 posts)Not sure I would drop 2 grand on it. Too small for a truck gun (imho), but may work for traveling. Would fit in a suitcase, or gym bag for those trips where the office puts you up in a sketchy motel.
I guess it's better than the folding stock adapters, but, they are not as budget busting.
If I was going to drop the coin on a CMMG, it would be the Banshee in 10mm.

(18,576 posts)AR type pistol available in .450 bushmaster. Probably not cheap.

(2,569 posts)Of course, didn't spend a whole lot of time looking, https://rockriverarmstore.com/pistols/ 450B is a bit more than what I wanna shoot.
However, if AK Jesus ever gets an AK-50 in production.... I may have to get one just for grins.
Wanna let QC get all the bugs out, I don't wanna end up like Kentucky Ballistics.
