(17,502 posts)I don't know the state law in Colorado, but 21 is federal law when buying from a licensed dealer. Since the media hasn't went nuts speculating and advocating, I think its safe to assume they got them from the same people that sell nose candy and other under the counter medications.

(17,502 posts)They broke into accomplice's parent's safe. I saw the same claim in the Daily Mail. If the safe could be defeated with crowbars and axes, I'm guessing mom and dad cheaped out on the safe.

(34,201 posts)By moderate I mean the 700 - 1500 dollar range.
But even 2000 - 5000 safes appear to be easily defeated with 20 minutes of cutting saw on the side panels.
After researching safes, I realized that you really need to spend 5000 - 8000 dollars on a high quality safe and have it bolted to the floor and walls in a tight-fitting cinderblock rebar reinforced cubby hole. And even then its just a matter of time.
