(52,245 posts)"It is our right" BULLSHIT! I have the right to live my life without the fear of being shot when I walk down the street (a bullet whizzed past my face one day and I heard it...1 foot from my face). I have the right to teach first graders without fearing for my life and theirs too. The Founding Fathers did NOT have this intent 250 years ago and all the 2nd Amend bullshit is exactly that..BULLSHIT. BS excuses and you and I know it!

(49,445 posts)Too busy. Back when I was working nights and my kid was at his mom's during the week I used to be on a lot. It's how I would fill time (and educate myself) before and after work.
Now I'm on my phone a lot, my kid lives with me full-time, and I work over 50 hours a week. It's hard to really work DU through a smartphone and I'm simply not on my computer like I used to be.
I check in a lot but I don't engage in discussion much. Come and goes; sometimes (particularly Sunday mornings) I'll spend a few hours on the computer and be able to actually type things out.

Not a new idea.
Not facts to focus on.

(21,037 posts)And facts have never mattered in the gun debate anyway. It's all fueled by emotions, primarily fear and anger, on both sides. I sometimes think we'd all be better off if poets were running the world instead of politicians and oil men.
