Gun Control & RKBA

It seems to me that by nominating the NRA's candidate, the GOP has insured that many of the worse aspects of gun culture would be unleashed and put on display in broad daylight.
But America's gun culture is not ready for prime time. Way too creepy for that.
It seems that everything that the NRA's candidate touches dies.
We must never forget how close the NRA brought us to the precipice of a racist, xenophobic, misogynistic dictatorship in this election.
That is the NRA's vision for America.
What the NRA's candidate is doing to the GOP right now is what the NRA intended to do to America by his nomination.

(13,426 posts)Why do you post this here?
Calling Trump the NRA candidate is fair, if somewhat redundant. All the Republican Presidential candidates are the "NRA" candidates
Wouldn't GD 2016 or Gun Control Reform Activism be a more natural fit?
You continuously post here but almost all your posts are only barely connected to the SoP for this group. Frequently the only connection is your ability to work in the phrase "NRA Candidate", however poorly, into the body of your post.
The act of coming on line for the sole purpose of provoking arguments has a name - Trolling - and I thought DU was opposed to that behavior.

(17,502 posts)he is simply the means. The NRA endorses him only because Trump is telling them what they want to hear. I don't know of anyone in the shooting sports community who actually likes or trusts him.
The NRA's vision isn't Trump.
BTW, what is your concern for the health of the GOP? What about NRA members of color, women and gay members including the ones on the board of directors?
Trump is destroying a party that is out of touch with its own base. Any political party whose congress members and elites are holding office for their own personal gain and not to represent the interests of the grassroots and country deserves to be destroyed and replaced with one that will.
It happened to the Whigs over slavery, it is happening to the GOP over several things.

(49,445 posts)This properly belongs in GD: 2016. Dozens of issue groups support one candidate or another for their own particular reasons; those that support Trump are also to blame for, in your words, bringing us to "the precipice of a racist, xenophobic, misogynistic dictatorship".
This really doesn't have anything to do with the SoP of the Group. GCRA may allow it, or may not. But it doesn't belong here.
