Cold Dead Hands Ammosexual Equality T-Shirt
$ 14.95
We've all heard the phrase by now... Ammosexual! I'm here to say: "I'm out of the closet! I am an Ammosexual, and I'm proud!" It's time the liberal gun grabbers start recognizing our rights as law abiding gun owners, and quit discriminating against us. Stand united... stand proud... and wear a shirt that tells them how you feel.
Printed with the finest color inks in the market place using the most advanced printing technology, we've placed them upon a 100% cotton Gildan shirt which allows us a product made by an American company, printed by a small American company and sold by a small American company and we pass that value on to our customers. So enjoy a shirt that will last and a phrase that takes a traditional sarcastic approach to the gun grabber philosophy.
We use the sale of all our products to fund our 2nd Amendment advocacy efforts, and your support is greatly appreciated.

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The American Dialect Society (ADS), founded in 1889, is a learned society "dedicated to the study of the English language in North America, and of other languages, or dialects of other languages, influencing it or influenced by it."[1] The Society publishes the academic journal, American Speech.
Since its foundation, dialectologists in English-speaking North America have affiliated themselves with the American Dialect Society, an association which in its first constitution defined its objective as "the investigation of the spoken English of the United States and Canada" (Constitution, 1890). Over the years, its objective has remained essentially the same, only expanded to encompass "the English language in North America, together with other languages or dialects of other languages influencing it or influenced by it" (Fundamentals, 1991).[4]

In any event, I think it is a good thing that the majority of Americans believe that the Second Amendment protects an individual right to keep and bear arms, and that the vast majority of states are enacting more and more laws that protect such a right. For example, did you know that in 2011 Iowa became a "shall issue" state for concealed carry permits, and that concealed and open carry are both permitted?

to the people and trends in the LGBT community & gay pride?
"alternate lifestyle"??
"Ammo Pride"?
"Born this way"??
Really?
Didn't you just have a thread closed where you were equating "gay folks and black folks" to AR-15s?
Cultural appropriation?
At the least, your bigotry is very strange.

I'm surprised Bloomberg isn't selling it just to get enough money to pay for his 7 bodyguards ammo.

(12,194 posts)Wouldn't be a big seller, since you generally have to publicly cop to wanting to grab guns if you wear one, and we all know how willing to admit it that most of them are.
Plus, it would be kind of difficult to wear one to a rally while spewing "reasonable commonsense" talking points, although I'm sure there are a few with the requisite lack of self awareness to pull it off.

Yeah, Bloomie, with Gabby Gifford and her husband, is trying to pass a state gun store licensing scam here in Illinois now. All on top of the existing Federal and local business permit process.
They're also trying to pass off a scam about requiring clerks in gun stores to pass state background checks. As if they don't already pass Federal NICS background checks and hiring criminal background checks. Once again, counting on both the ignorance of the public and the cooperation of the media to carry their twisted message.
Giving our crooked state politicos control over licensing and their proven track record for driving all gun stores out of Chicago and Cook County, it's an easy way for them to slow walk or revoke business permits, create impossible standards, e.g. video recording every gun sale with names, address, e.g. Back door registration, ammunition sales limits.
But remember, his $50 million plus each year doesn't count the way any SAF, NRA ILA funding does. Different rules.

Which really means there are two possibilities:
The don't know about federal law or how the process works. Credit where credit is due, the stupidity of the antis makes this marginally plausible.
or
They just want to make the entire process as burdensome as possible, which is VERY plausible.
Yup. Why is it that they attempt these things and appear to believe that nobody sees what they're trying to do?

(363 posts)Try posting a 'humorous' name slur posting against religions in the religious groups. or barefoot and pregnant t-shirts in a women's group, or perhaps something about watermelon gift cards in the African American group and see how long the post stays up provided your account isn't tomb stoned before you can check it.
For being branded as out of control, fear blinded, trip wired to kill and destroy at the drop of a hat types, a lot of overtly insulting and outright bigoted postings get a free pass here and are generally received with open debate along with humorous ridicule.
The one point it constantly reinforces is that there is a serious lack of control shown by many gun opponents so perhaps their merely projecting their own impulse control issues onto those in the gun community who despite years of predictions of rivers of blood running down every street as gun restrictions have fallen have been proven to be epically wrong time and again.

(1,558 posts)My favorite part of the anti's posting here.
Projection - assuming that others will act the way you know you would act - if you were in the other person's situation.
Don't give a person who uses the term ammosexuals a gun - they would probably use it.
I had a boss once, when I was fresh out of college - who used to say things like 'I know you were looking at her' to other guys when an attractive woman would walk by. He was a fucking perv.

ABOUT US
The name Nine Line is iconic in nature and easily recognizable by any service member past, present, or future. In combat, a Nine Line is an emergency medevac request, and is often the difference between life and death for the most severely wounded. Two Army officers (and brothers), CPTs Daniel & Tyler Merritt, started Nine Line Apparel in a garage.
As a result of its support of the military and patriotism, the apparel line promotes the importance of caring for our veterans, especially those who are severely wounded. In early 2013, after Tylers West Point classmate lost three limbs fighting in Afghanistan, the brothers created Nine Line Foundation. The brothers committed to donating a portion of the proceeds of all apparel purchases to helping severely wounded veterans and their families.

(6,498 posts)The only satire that I can see in the OP is the "Ammosexual Song" in the second video. (A line from which appears quoted in the thread title.)
The rest appears to be an entirely serious attempt at misappropriating the struggles of gays by comparing being gay with deadly weapons, as is often done by homophobic ammosexuals here in this forum.
The North American Man Boy Love Association similarly often attempts to misappropriate the struggles of gays for equality.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_American_Man/Boy_Love_Association
This is no different.
Ammosexuals need to stop misappropriating the struggles of gays.
It is highly offensive and homophobic.

(18,318 posts)...so don't be surprised when some of the objects (100,00,000) of your splendid hatred decide to "capitalize" on your "capitalizing" on "ammosexual."
You have any more expressions which ride the back of prejudice and bigotry by the mere swapping out of the first two letters of a word rarely used in civil talk? Like
"Homosexual?"

(6,185 posts)They all need to be taught how bigoted they are by using that term. It's up to you to deliver the message where it will do the most good.
Nobody here ever called themselves an Ammosexual, that came from gun control supporters and is used exclusively (until your post today of course) by them to denigrate gun owners.
That's where the problem lies.

Excessive:
So I throw my sidearm on my hip on the weekends when I go hiking.
My area is known as still relatively peaceful (Catskills region), but a county or two over (southern tier) is awash in heroin and meth labs. My wife and I did get lost in the woods in an unfamiliar area once, we came out to the road behind a house that fit the description of a meth lab to a tee.
Irrational:

Obsession:

Everything in the 'catalog' is a misappropriation of the ridiculous term ANTIs use against pro gun people.
ANTIs made up the term. Pro gun people use it as humor. It's all humor.
Making fun of an anti-gun term.

(49,445 posts)First off, this reads like you're selling something. DU2 used to have the "DU Marketplace" forum for this kind of stuff; I don't know if DU3 has it, but this Group is not a marketplace.
Second, the connotations of "ammosexual" are the same that the RW puts on "homosexual". In fact, there are browser extensions that RWers can install that, when displaying a page, will automatically replace "gay" with "homosexual".
It is my belief that using this term feeds into the smearing, degrading tone that the homophobic use when they put so much verbal emphases "homosexual" in conversation, rather than making such language socially unacceptable and rare.
Regards,
Krispos42, Group Host
