Texas Republicans will allow people to openly carry guns at its state convention

The Republican Party of Texas will allow people to carry guns at their state convention, according to the Dallas Morning News.

Both open and concealed carry of firearms will be permitted at Texas State Convention in May, officials confirmed.

On Monday, the U.S. Secret Service announced it would not allow people to carry guns at the Republican National Convention in Cleveland. More than 45,000 people had signed a petition calling on the RNC to allow the open carry of firearms at the event.

Both Texas and Ohio allow guns to be carried openly in public.

Don't you guys ever get tired of being wrong? Or do you take great pride in it like some here do?

Oh wait, that's right, you never admit it when your DIY horror stories never come to pass. You all just quietly drift away.

Still waiting for that bloodbath we were promised in Georgia with the "Guns Everywhere" laws last year. How'd that all work out?

The actual facts, with 20 years of statistics behind them in Texas, of people with a CCW permit being far more law abiding than the average citizen doesn't count I guess.

We all know that people at such conventions are invariably polite, considerate people, who even if they have a difference of opinion with someone would never resort to violence. Not to mention, it's well understood that guns make people exceedingly polite.

On a more realistic note, this is going to be a Republican state convention, which I venture to say means the people there will largely be in agreement with each other about all the major issues.

Personally, I wouldn't be willing to attend, but I'm not a Republican, either.
