http://www.gunsandammo.com/shoot101/how-to-choose-handgun-holster/Over the years I've changed very little about the holsters I use for my favorite CC sidearms.
Because I refuse to stick a gun down my pants I nearly always carry with a leather pancake holster.
Sometimes attire will require me to scale down and those times I'll carry my LCP in a pocket holster.
Whatever you choose, stay safe and carry on.

(17,502 posts)I have been using a cheap Uncle Mikes. The problem I have is that the pistol rotates in my jeans.

I use that for pocket carry of my J-Frame. It is very secure and comfortable.

(6,771 posts)The same model fits the LCP. They are perfectly adequate and don't have some of the problems of leather holsters, such as the tendency to corrode your handgun if you store it in the holster too long. In fact, I leave my P32 in the holster all the time, even when it is stored in the safe.
One word of caution if you're still thinking of leather. Avoid extremely tight form-fitted pocket holsters at all costs. That design feature is (or should be) only for retention purposes in a belt holster. The retention device with pocket carry is your pocket. All a pocket holster has to do is cover the trigger and keep the pistol in an upright orientation.
I don't know what holster-makers are thinking when they make those things. They are almost impossible to draw from.

(6,185 posts)Daily carry varies between a Kimber Ultra Carry 3 inch and a Kahr CM9. When I have to wear grown up clothes, I use a Kahr CW380 in a Galco leather pocket holster
The Crossbreed Supertuck really spreads the weight out and their J clips on a black or dark brown belt really make it disappear.

I like that the backing is neoprene for comfort. Sandwiched between the neoprene and the outer surface is a thin piece of what they refer to as "spring metal" that allows it to conform to your person while you wear it, but it doesn't fold over like some leather holsters I looked into apparently have a tendency to do.
