Man fatally shoots self while hunting coyotes

This discussion thread was locked as off-topic by krispos42 (a host of the Gun Control & RKBA group).

A 67-year-old man fatally shot himself Monday in a hunting accident while trying to protect his chickens from coyotes, according to a statement from the Lapeer County Sheriff Department.
The man was found dead in a wooded area of his residence in Oregon Township shortly after 10:15 a.m. Monday.
The man had been hunting coyotes for about a week after hearing the animals and fearing they posed a threat to his chickens. The man fell from a tree stand while holding a loaded shotgun, according to the statement.

He needed a good coyote with a gun.

Every death goes on the ledger. Even people who claim they know guns end up getting killed by their own guns fairly regularly.

Hence GunFail and the impotent rage of our local ammosexual tough guy posers. Delicious.

Proof that the right to bear arms is not a guarantee against the right to be a moron.

As uncle Ben said, with great power comes great responsibility.

Look forward to your next post about a police car racing to a crime scene and killing the officer.

"Impotent rage"? "Ammosexual"? "Tough guy posers"? Please point us to one post by a gun rights supporter in this thread that even remotely resembles your insults. You are the only one acting tough and 1950's he-man.

The more of these types of gleeful posts of accidental deaths seasoned with a smattering of general insults to presumably other democratic party supporters makes it clearer to me every day that many people oppose guns because they know they do not have enough self control or intestinal fortitude to not use a gun the first time the paper delivery kid throws the paper into the flowers.

My father used to lay in the barn loft to ambush coyotes headed to the chicken house.

I used to remove coons and foxes from the same position when I lived on the farm (70-92). Coyotes didn't become a huge problem until the late 90's.

If you're going to hunt from a treestand be sure to always have a safety harness.
