Police find classmate gave gun to Arizona girls in murder-suicide

PHOENIX | BY DAVID SCHWARTZ

The handgun used in last week's apparent murder-suicide of two 15-year-old girls found shot dead at their suburban Phoenix high school was furnished by a fellow student at the request of one of the girls, police said on Tuesday.

Sergeant David Vidaure, a spokesman for the police department in Glendale, Arizona, said the girl had obtained the weapon from her classmate, a 15-year-old boy, on the eve of last Friday's fatal shooting after telling him "she needed it for protection".

The classmate obliged by providing the girl with "a family-owned handgun, from his home, without the permission or knowledge of his parents," Vidaure said in a statement.

Suicide is the third-leading cause of death among American youths aged 10 to 24, resulting in 4,600 lives lost each year, and firearms are the most common method for taking one's own life, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

You do realize an underage male, stealing a handgun from his parents, and giving it to an underage girl would neither be allowed, or encouraged, even had he sold it to her.

From what I gather, based on years of experience, selling something you don't own is somewhat of a crime.

What if he owned it? What if he had gotten it for his 10th birthday or something like that. Not uncommon among gun fondlers.

From the article:

"The classmate obliged by providing the girl with "a family-owned handgun, from his home, without the permission or knowledge of his parents," Vidaure said in a statement. ".

THAT leads me to believe he stole it from his parents.

that makes it a federal offense, besides theft. He couldn't show it was his since his name and SSN would not appear on the 4473.

you know damn well there is no one in America that supports 15 year olds stealing guns from their parents and selling it to another 15 year old.

instead of inane non sequiturs .

You want rational, common sense gun laws? How about approaching the issue with rational thought and actual common sense? How about an actual willingness to interact with those that disagree with something other than broadbrush insults?

With language like that, naaaa, you don't have a cause.

It would be sad if it wasn't so funny.

Then you go on to describe fellow Democrats as "gun fondlers" while oblivious to the fact that you've outed yourself.
