Gun dealer gets 2 ½ years for selling weapons to felon

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (AP) - Prosecutors say a gun dealer has been sentenced to 2 ½ years in prison for selling guns to a felon who was barred by law from buying them.

The U.S. Attorney's Office said in a press release that 55-year-old Philip Elliott also spoke to the felon about selling him rocket-propelled grenade launchers.

Elliott was sentenced Thursday. He ran Mountain Top Coins, Guns and Ammo in Franklin.

It doesn't mention anything about the NRA or wild-eyed gun owners vowing to appeal the conviction and challenge the law and we have been assured on innumerable occasions that the NRA and wild-eyed gun owners don't want any gun control laws whatsoever.
