Gun Control & RKBA
Related: About this forumFolks....The Daily SecMo is running late.
I woke up, brewed a cup of coffe, and sat down to read The Daily SecMo. I can't find it, did anyone else receive a copy this morning?
To keep this on topic, please post the best article you've found within the last month that hasn't been shared. Thanks
To that end:

This is a 12 page paper that I encourage everyone to read both pro and anti rights folks. I found it to to be a truly fascinating read.

(6,185 posts)Then he hopes no one notices that it's old, or from some basement blogger no one ever heard of.
Hey, maybe he read all about the surge in gun sales/NICS checks and is out trying to find a nice DPMS AR for his collection?
If that's the case I picture the individual being a total connoisseur. The dude is probably running a .223 Wylde match grade barrel, Geissele trigger, with some fancy billet lower. The dude is too good for "Didn't Pass Mil-Spec", and as a hobby trolls us by doing drive-by gun control articles he setup in Google alerts.

(18,318 posts)whereby an anti-gun aggregator pre-packages stuff and slings it out to banners? Sometimes the stuff in DU, no matter how trivial, pops up (or out) like an intestinal virus on several tube sites simultaneously. Hell, maybe SecMo is today's equivalent to Hal.

(12,194 posts)They call it "the trace". Most people know its just a bloomberg propaganda clearing house though, even some of the anti-gunners.

(1,954 posts)Yeah, SecMo dumps like a mofo eating chili cheese dogs for every meal, but you have to give him one thing; he's diligent and he believes in his cause.
We, as gun owners, should be (and frequently are) held to a higher standard of both responsibility and dialogue, and we should rarely, if ever, sink to the point of attacking someone directly or indirectly for their beliefs (or posting habits). Yeah, his content is obnoxious, threadbare and normally ridiculously biased, but let's be up front with one another; when firearms make the news, it's rarely with good intent or well-being.
Kang, I respect ya, but seeing as this is primarily Meta, would you be kind enough to delete? I won't alert or anything, but c'mon, mate. Let's try to keep it a bit classier than this.
Also, I'd love to have an independent post based on articles we haven't seen, and would be delighted to see what others have found. If you want to fire that sucker up, I'll give you the honors. Otherwise, I'll kick it up tomorrow morning.

(1,941 posts)mad props for his efforts. The words in my first post are true as can be. I was like a dog without a bone without The Daily SecMo. I do value what SecMo does and think that individual is an asset to this forum.

(1,954 posts)We've got several subposts though that aren't quite as potentially well-meaning as yours, and I can only see this going south in terms of constructive dialogue. As you may notice, very few (Read; none that I've seen) have answered to the second part of your post in relation to the articles that we haven't seen posted here. Rather than respond to each of those posts directly, I thought it would be more expedient and efficient to respond to the OP directly.
Consider the post I made less a response to you and more an acknowledgment of the trouble this could lead to. Gods know we're already a hunted species on this board; giving the other side potential alert-fuel isn't exactly something a few of us could afford.
Still, all that said, if this post makes it through the night, I'll throw a few articles I came across recently up for the board. Busy taking care of the baby girl at the moment, so intensive research and link-hunting are kind of out of the question tonight. Thanks for your time and consideration, mate. See you next time. o7

(1,941 posts)controllers who are downright mean and nasty, SecMo has a good demeanor.
Anyway, I edited my OP. Check out that paper from SSRN. I read it Friday and was blown away...lots of good thoughts and I can see a constitutional framework starting to emerge on 2A issues based on what's described in the paper. Totally fascinating.

(1,954 posts)Won't be done anytime soon, as I've got five minute blocks of free time at a stretch, but from the brief bit I've read so far, definitely looks to be a solid read. Glad it's not hidden behind a paywall, either; these things often are. Thanks for the share, and I'll be back a bit later. Take care, mate.

(16,974 posts)But please comment or discuss them per the group SOP. Secmo is well know for his Google cut and paste postings without comment and he fails to discuss them. Has to be up around a thousand posts so far.
