The largest spike was in Mgarch 2013

These folks who were happy not to have a gun were made aware that right could be restricted in the future, and decided to obtain a gun now.
Get it now while you still can; tomorrow may be too late. I only hope they seek out safety training along with their new guns.

I've heard from an extremely reliable source that the San Diego County Sheriff's Department has lightened the bureaucratic load involved in getting a CCW permit. Given that we're currently corrupt-issue, and very few permits are issued, this seems to signal that the department is bracing to issue thousands of permits at some time in the future.

O they did, it just was not the tipping point a few envisioned.
