Hundreds of Jobs Will Be Created at FBI's Clarksburg Facility for Obama’s Gun-Control Plan
President Obama's recent executive actions to combat gun violence, calls for an expanded role for the federal government. The FBI is expected to hire more than 230 employees for its National Instant Criminal Background Check System.
Stephen Morris, assistant director of the FBI's Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Division said, "Our mission is not only to ensure that folks that are prohibited from purchasing firearms don't get weapons or don't get firearms. Also, is to make sure folks who have their constitutional second amendment constitutional right to process firearms, can do that."
The 230 new hires would add to the 3,000 current employees working at the FBI's Clarksburg location.
"We really enjoy being in the community, so anytime that we can attract additional jobs and we increase our staffing levels here, that has an immediate impact on the community simply because the folks will live and work here and hopefully spend their money here," said Morris.
