The more things change, the more they stay the same

In a GD OP regarding a proposed ban on smoking in public housing this reply had me wondering why no one in this group ever thought of this?

12. It's all about controlling the choices of others

And folks have seen this coming from the time people worked to ban it in bars "Oh, no, we don't care what you do in your home! We just care about what you do in a bar. Trust us."

If you don't fight the little things they become bigger.

Same with abortion. Your body, your choice, but some people want it outlawed and will gnaw away at it bit by bit.

of recreation.

As a hobby or recreation, they can be fun to play with.

Their primary reason for existing is to kill living beings, human or otherwise.

I dont disagree that guns are fun and you should be able to have one in a perfect world, but arent in a perfect world

You obviously choose not to, and I respect that. Between 80 and 100 million of us choose differently, and we will retain that choice.

Its seen all the time in this forum.

Those to whom the means are far more important than the ends, are not hard to identify.

I was in a bad mood the other day - had heard just about enough nonsense already and couldn't resist. It looks like we're in for hearing a lot more nonsense now.
