(9,951 posts)things like bullets, and such.
If you have a problem with it, don't click on this group, or better yet, just trash the group and you won't have to deal with it.

(6,775 posts)Bullets that fragment are much safer as self-defense ammo because they don't tend to overpenetrate, meaning they won't go completely through their intended targets (or through walls, etc.) and strike innocent bystanders. This is why all police use some kind of hollow-point expanding bullet. This is merely an extension of that principle.

(1,941 posts)If this post included a comparison between the hype around this and the Winchester Black Talon from twenty years ago that made nightly news...then it's clear cut and proper for discussion based on our SOP, in my opinion.
Ammo marketed with this kind of marketing flare attracts controller attention and stereotypes. I don't agree with their approach at all. It looks like they started out grossly overstating the muzzle energy associated with these light weight projectiles and a non +p or +p+ load. Several vendors still have the over stated fpe on their website. 490 fpe at the muzzle with only a 92 grain (as of now) bullet at 1265 fps....that doesn't math.

(6,185 posts)I seem to recall a "moral outrage" on these scary looking cartridges about a year and a half or so ago.
The reality was these gimmicks didn't feed worth shit in semi autos. Jammed on the feed ramps, if I remember correctly.
