Colorado considers pre-emptive ban on powdered alcohol
Associated Press
theguardian.com, Tuesday 16 December 2014 14.21 GMT
Powdered alcohol hasnt even arrived in stores yet, but states are already moving to ban the product touted by its inventor as an easy way to mix a drink on the go.
Colorado is the latest state considering prohibiting Palcohol amid concern that it will increase underage drinking. The product is marketed as an ounce of rum or vodka in powdered form, which is then added to water.
Each serving is the equivalent of a shot of liquor, according to Lipsmark, the company that owns Palcohol.
I think being proactive and jumping out in front of the problem is probably the right thing to do, said Chris Johnson, executive director of the County Sheriffs of Colorado. It really doesnt have any place in our society, powdered alcohol. We have enough problems with the liquid kind.

It probably doesn't taste real good, but I don't see a reason to ban it. I suppose it would make it a lot easier to sneak alcohol into the movie theater, but that seems a relatively minor concern.

thinking he coujd make it REALLY strong, ended up ingesting 23 times a safe amount. I can see kids adding this to their drinks in large qties to get drunker, faster...
