http://www.thedailychronic.net/2014/32018/colorado-over-25-million-in-marijuana-revenue-since-legalization/Marijuana has already generated Colorado nearly $25 million in revenue since legalization, between taxes, licenses, and fees.
And in the first three months of this year alone, Colorados raked in nearly $22 million over $16 million of that was in taxes, the rest in license and application fees according to a report from the Colorado Department of Revenue.
...the tax revenue so far continues to climb month to month, as recreational sales jumped to $19 million in March up nearly a third from $14 million in February.
...In a report issued in February, Gov. John Hickenlooper (D) predicted a combined $1 billion dollars in sales between medical and recreational cannabis, and estimated the state could stand to bank up to $134 million in taxes and fees during 2014-15 fiscal year.

Anyone who votes for Republicans ought to ask themselves why, considering they don't want states to benefit from implementing the will of the voter...and they're making noises about blocking DC's new decriminalization law.
How many issues do you see where those in favor WANT to pay taxes? LOL.
...and people are leaving states that continue the war on drugs b.s. for the sake of their children.

(714 posts)be jumping for joy over this, the triumph of states rights and the will of the local voter over federal law? Also, it's a new free market and a new wave of small business entrepreneurs, which I seem to remember hearing that they liked?

(30 posts)Less government intrusion, sound fiscal policy, not sure why there's even disagreement on this one. Expanded to a Federal level, we could start chipping away at the national debt, why wouldn't that please everyone?
