Is it legal to trave on foot across the United States? I have been told that it was not, I disagree. Please post if you have any knowledge on this, thank you.

(51,666 posts)the exception of controlled-access roads aka freeways). Sleeping in rights-of-way is probably not an issue as long as you keep moving every day.

(34 posts)Who told you it was not legal? What was their argument? I think (or would hope) that walking should be one of the more straightforward means of transportation. I would think there would be much more discussion with other modes of travel, maybe like what the Amish do.

(3,386 posts)Seriously, it's legal to walk across the US, as long as you aren't trespassing on private property, or illegally on a public way such as a freeway.
