English-Only Policy Dropped at Milwaukee Custard Stand

By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS MILWAUKEE — Jun 3, 2016, 10:31 AM ET

A Latino civil rights group that objected to a Milwaukee custard stand's English-only ordering policy says the owner has dropped any language restraints on his employees.

The League of United Latin American Citizens of Wisconsin says Leon's Frozen Custard will also review its personnel policies to ensure the business is in compliance with civil rights laws and federal guidelines. The organization asked the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission to investigate after learning of the English-only policy.

Leon's owner, Ron Schneider, says his business, located in a Latino neighborhood, has always been in compliance with the law. Schneider has said the policy was simply a way to more efficiently operate his business.

is the color of the money used to buy the custard.

Why would anyone turn away customers????? You speak the language of your customers and learn new languages if it means getting more customers.
