Did Hitler think that after the invasion of Poland, Britain

Albert Speer says in “Inside the third Reich” that Hitler was surprised that they declared war. I know that Speer is not always reliable as the narrator of past events, but this i find believable.

Because they did nothing after his arms buildup, his invasion of the Rhineland and invasion of Czechoslovakia.

4. Perhaps the biggest irony concerning Hitler's Germany

is that it was the German Jewish scientists who fled the country that ended up in US and were instrumental in the development of the atomic bomb. Had they stayed in Germany and been loyal to the Nazis, Germany probably could have developed atomic weapons before we did. One bomb on London and one on Moscow, with a threat to hit New York or DC next, would have likely left a shaky peace with Hitler in control of all of Europe and Russia.
