Today in Peace and Justice history on March 8, 1908

Thousands of workers in the New York needle trades (primarily women) demonstrated and began a strike for higher wages, a shorter workday and an end to child labor. This event became the basis for International Women's Day celebrated all over the world since March 8, 1945. http://bit.ly/XZTAzu
