Woodstock was a music festival held August 1518, 1969, on Max Yasgur's dairy farm in Bethel, New York, 40 miles (65 km) southwest of the town of Woodstock. Billed as "an Aquarian Exposition: 3 Days of Peace & Music" and alternatively referred to as the Woodstock Rock Festival, it attracted an audience of more than 400,000. Thirty-two acts performed outdoors despite sporadic rain.

(27,517 posts)For real. I used to perform arithmetic without aid of a calculator and provide the results with confidence. Its not necessarily harder to perform the operations in my head, but the end product is incorrect with greater frequency as I get older.

(9,828 posts)Until a couple of years ago when I early retired from my job to take care of my MiL after an accident. She's just gone into memory care with frontotemporal dementia.
But my point is that when you have to use a calculator all day (as I did, for years!) you get used to catching yourself using it for stupid crap like...adding 2+5, or subtracting 10 from 30.
Then you laugh at yourself. It's about all you can do!
