When my mom was away - the Dad would give us fried spam on toast. I think he got acclimated to the texture while serving abroad.
My mom was born 30 years too early. The OG of the crunchy granola mommy bloggers who saw the movie Baby Boom and felt she cheated her kids by not trying to find baby Einstein clssses.
Also - we had grape soda pop, candy cigarettes, and McDonald's when she couldn't pull her Mom Card on the Man.
