Anyone planning on going to any of the Civil War 150th Anniversary events?

I'll definitely make it to Antietam in September of this year for their's. Though apparently they aren't doing all that much. They're forbidden to do a full reenactment on the battlefield itself. But I'd still like to go up there, on the day of the battle itself, if possible.

I do have a firm hold on my calendar for Gettysburg in 2013. It would take a hell of a lot to keep me from going to the 150th reenactment in July of 2013. I went to the 130th back in 1993, but I was young then. I would imagine that the President will attend this anniversary. Past Presidents have all attended earlier major milestone years at Gettysburg.

November 19th, 2013 is another time I REALLY want to get to Gettysburg for the 150th Anniversary of the Gettysburg Address.

I've never been to Appomatix, so if I can get there in April 2015, that would be pretty awesome.

But my wife and I are taking a two week road trip from D.C. to Savannah in May and I have stops planned for:

Bull Run
The Wilderness
Spotsylvania Courthouse
Yellow Tavern
Cold Harbor
Appomattox Court House

We live on the west coast, and my wife has never seen any of the Civil War battlefields (I've been to Bull Run, Shiloh, Gettysburg, Vicksburg, Ft. Moultrie, Ball's Bluff, Savannah, and New Market). Really hoping for some good weather second-half of May.

Take a week and rent a hotel room in central VA and just spend the week going to all the VA battlefields.

I went to the 150th Philippi (first land battle of the war, first amputation - J.E. Hanger, who went on to found Hanger Prosethetics in Richmond). There were several other events, but no one outside of West Virginia will have heard of those smaller battles.
