(38,726 posts)there.. Us boy scouts took turns at cleaning the inside and seat of the outhouse.....
If no one has done that, they have a lesson to be learned....also....While indoor plumbing is in most places
in the world, it is not .....everywhere!!!................

(15,148 posts)and the invention of reverse osmosis membrane filters. These two inventions alone combined to make clean drinking water a possibility for countless billions of people. Without them, you'd be drinking water on par with what's in your toilet.

1829 A.D.
Tremont Hotel of Boston was the first hotel of its kind to feature indoor plumbing for guests. Eight water closets were built by Isaiah Rogers.
1833 A.D.
The White House was first plumbed with running water on the main floor. Upstairs plumbing was later introduced when President Franklin Pierce was in office (1853-1857).

Perhaps instead of saying "it was nowhere", it'd be more correct to say it was not in general use?
