Rocky the US Marshall K9 is going to recover

Yesterday I got a couple alerts that there was a search in a nearby county for a fugitive who shot and killed a law enforcement officer who was trying to serve a warrant. Later the press was covering the fact that US Marshall K9 had located the fugitive and was shot in the process. This hero was transported in a Department of Public Safety helicopter and is going to recover

Rocky was shot three times. A bullet went through his nose and muzzle. Two more bullets went through his chest area.

"Luckiest dog I've seen," said a vet who helped Rocky.

K-9 Rocky continues to recover after being shot yesterday in southwest Houston. Rocky was shot by the man who investigators say killed Brazoria Co. Deputy Jesus Vargas. The K-9 officer was shot when he found the suspect in a dumpster.

Rocky's handler stayed overnight at the hospital and hasn't left his side.
