This is what happens when you forget to put the cat food container away.

I keep dry cat food in a large tupperware container (lower left in the photo) and store it in a cupboard where it can't be gotten to. But this morning I forgot to put it away and left it on the counter, and as I was sitting in the living room I heard a sort of rattling thump. Entered the kitchen and found cat food scattered far and wide and my little 14-lb. darlings Dave (top) and Chet (purple collar) hoovering up as much as they could manage. I swept up as much as I could but there will be kibbles in all the corners and nooks and crannies and they will find them. They're still at it.

Don't forget to put the cat food away.

2. Dave and Chet are no longer your fourteen pound darlings. Make that eighteen.

Our Barrett can unscrew the lid unless it is tight, very tight. Yes, to your question, Barrett is slightly’ overweight. 😆

I am overrun with insect invasions (fruit flies, ants, gnats, drain flies) and am uber vigilant with this hot weather. Colorado has blessed respite throughout most of the year, but all of a sudden the damned things try to take over!

Good luck!

My boys Andy and Charlie (21 lb) have on a few occasions chewed the bag open and had a feast.

6. I dropped a bowl of dry cat food on the kitchen floor years ago. My two dogs fought the broom for cleanup duty.

only with a big bag of catnip they'd managed to knock off the top of the fridge. The catnip was everywhere and there were two totally dissipated cats snoring away in the middle of it.

(Yes, cats snore)

10. Bad year for those tiny ghost ants. They love her wet food.

I can’t even keep it on the floor anymore because within seconds 1 million of them are just engulfed in the whole cat dish. I have to keep it up on her kitty play stand so she at least has a chance to eat some before they find it. Truly Nolan comes here year around but in July these particular ants just show up for about three weeks and nothing will get rid of them. But then again I live in the tropics so I guess that’s a trade-off between that and ice and snow. Strangely, they have no interest in her dry food, nor people food. But then again, I don’t keep anything out for longer than it takes to eat it.

Their biggest prize was a large cheese pizza from Costco knocked to the floor by Bosco and eaten, almost entirely, by Daphne. Somehow, there were no ill effects.

Of course I'm laughing because I don't have to clean it up. But I have been there. More than once.
