Related: About this forumToday I found my cat's belly button.
Of course he has one; he's a mammal. Chet , however, is the first cat I've ever had who likes and actually asks for belly rubs; all my previous cats have tried to eat my hand if I touched their bellies. But in the process of petting Chet's large but adorable furry tummy this morning I found a little bald spot exactly where you'd expect a belly button to be. I guess every day contains a new experience, however small and weird.

(3,499 posts)and she is not kidding. Her ears go up; her claws come out; her teeth are bared; and she'll bite, even if it's touched by accident or I come too close to her belly. Martini used to love belly rubs; she would grab ahold of my hand with her front feet and kick with her back feet, just like a kitten. She's outgrown that now but it doesn't bother her if I rub her belly.
