CAR SEATs, forward facing, for my 2 1/2 year old grand daughter.

Daughter's shopping now (for a Friday excursion,) so I'm trying to determine SAFETY, NOT easy to pin point.

A couple Graco models in contention, Extend2Fit Convertible, and size4me 65.

INFO, please.

Thx

ride facing backwards. After that, they ride forwards.

I can't comment on specific brands, as my kids are now adults, but were always in car seats until about age 5 or 6.

I see that car seats have apparently been re-designed since my sons were young. It looks like it's more of a weight limit (35-40 pounds), which is higher than it was a couple of decades ago.

Quite honestly, reading the justifications for keeping a child in a rear facing seat for a very long time makes me think all seats should be rear facing.

and the law changes depending on your state. I seem to remember it being on a driver's test.

Kids now stay in car seats or booster seats until they are a certain height and weight. Facing backward has been updated to height and weight and not by age.

Here is the site. There is also a link to different brands.
