Shit. My daughter in Budapest has shingles.

Fortunately she had chicken pox as a kid, so she's not having as bad a time as those that got the shot. It's still a bitch and whether you had the chicken pox or got the shot, the immunity fails by adulthood. It's just worse for those who got the shot. The doctor gave her some stuff to kill the pain and the itching, but she's still dealing with it. I'm sad. She has a full account of it at KrystinasCrossings.com.

Since we never get rid of the herpes virus, why does it suddenly get activated? Must be a reason. I wonder if she was taking antibiotics or got some other vax?
