Look at these Gorgeous Leeks I Just Dug Up!

[IMG][/IMG]

They were planted last year, and they overwintered. In late March of this year, they were as big as a thick pencil. Now look at them!

I grew them from seed last year.

I have a whole tray of leek seedlings to go in the garden soon so I'll have more next year. And while these will last me for a month or two, I have eight pencil-sized ones ready to move into a sunnier plot. That will take me through August, I think.

Leeks are the best for soup, which is something I love to make because it makes it easier to get in those 2.5 cups of vegetables each day.
