where it is most definitely asparagus season. Roadside stands and markets everywhere are advertising "Spargel" which is pronounced, "shpargel". They favor the white kind.

Family went to Poland for a wedding June 2000, and after a couple weeks, Austria, Italy, France, our return flight thru Frankfurt, every item on menu for our last dinner included white Spargel! I see berries in your pic, so I'm heading to grocery!
