I knew most of these but there were a few new ones to try out.

The groundhog said an early Spring. Sure hope he's right!

1. I tend to buy seeds from catalogs with the best culture information

and that's why Johnny's is my first choice. I also appreciate Territorial's catalog info and shipping schedule for live plants.
I buy Renee's and Ferry-Morse seed at retail locations because of the varieties and reliability of the seed freshness.

2. I've ordered from every company on the list except Peaceful Valley.

I would add Gourmet Seeds International as a great source for all kinds of oddball European and Asian vegetables. Plus Kitazawa for Asian seeds.

3. My favorites are Johnny's, Tomato Growers's Supply, Victory.

Also like Pine Tree, Southern Exposure, Glecklers, Tania's TomatoBase.

5. I'm less happy with Seeds of Change since they were sold

They're owned by Mars (yes, the candy people), and I haven't been happy with their new packaging.

Despite the fact that they're owned by Burpee, I like Totally Tomatoes for their selection - and I've gotten good germination rates from 4 year old seeds I had around. I like Seeds from Italy (aka growitalian.com) since I live in a similar climate so their seeds do well here. Burpee's is reliable but a tad pricey. My overall favorite is the wonderfully eccentric J.L.Hudson, Seedsman - a limited selection of vegetables, but prices are good and they carry some things I don't see anywhere else.

7. Now that I know that I will quit buying from them. Last year I had super luck

with their seeds.

6. sampleseeds.com is good for flowers.

Remy is a nice lady and has unusual varieties.

I dealt with Territorial for the last couple years, but then they sent me a mis labeled seed pack that caused me to have to use a tiller to remove whatever they were. Big mistake! I found a new company, also in Maine, called 'Pinetree' garden seeds, Can't vouch for the quality yet, but prices are good.
