Probably plum curculio, which is one of the harder pests to control, especially using organic-only products.

Chickens eat pretty much anything, mine loved styrofoam when they got at a piece by accident. I was sure it would plug up their digestive systems and they would die in agony in a few days. Turns out it didn't seem to do much of anything to them, and I've since read some people actually given them tiny amounts from time to time to help act as grit. I wouldn't intentionally.

there was a chicken at the vets that had eaten screws. she was supposed to be food, but people got attached to her. they were seriously contemplating $1k. don't know what they ended up doing.

and have spent that much more than once.....but for a chicken? I don't know. Don't think that I would do that, although I do understand why food chicken became pet chicken.

at a Jewish community center.....yep, I have a feeling that there will be no chicken soup anytime soon.

But that is pretty sad that a chicken ate screws.
