Gardening
Related: About this forumI'm really sad tonight. I'm going outside to plant things.
It's been rough lately. I hope I feel better later when I come in.
See you in a while.
Here's something happy to look at:

(60,513 posts)right now we have our daylilies, salvia black and blue, some knock out and miniature roses, cosmos, marigolds and lantana in bloom - crape myrtles just beginning. Pretty time of year.
did the planting make you feel better? the WI election stuff last night had me depressed all day today....soon to bed.

(9,992 posts)I find a lot of comfort and distraction in getting dirt under my nails. That therapy has become just as important to me as all the pretty flowers and lovely veggies.
Hoping for better days ahead for you.

(37,926 posts)Human interaction with plants has positive effects on mood, health, etc.
I know that in gardening season, when I'm outdoors everyday, I'm practically giddy all the time. I know it's 'cuz I love seeing my plants, trees, and flowers growing. I talk to them, kiss flowers, fondle their leaves. I even dance with my rake in the garden and who cares what the neighbors think. I don't think they can see me--too woodsy here with vines everywhere.
So I'll bet you're feeling better and you couldn't have done a nicer thing for yourself.
Stunning photo of foxgloves! What a paradise!
