When I think about gardening, I see myself tying up tomato vines to supports. For some reason I love to do that. Not my photo, but:
Then I like to walk back about 10' and admire my handiwork.

(22,897 posts)Gardening is my wife's passion. I had a job as a teenager where one of my responsibilities was to tend to large vegetable and flower gardens. That was enough for me.
We did build a small greenhouse (from a kit) at the beginning of the pandemic and the results have been crazy. She's growing cucumbers, green beans, yellow squash, zucchini, several types of tomatoes and broccoli. It's like Jurassic Park in there!
Her other garden is on our deck and she's growing several types of lettuce, more tomatoes (cherry-sized) and a bunch of herbs and spices.
She loves to play in her gardens. I love to eat the bounty!

(25,464 posts)We plant several pots of coleus in the spring, and then just leave them alone. They thrive with little to no attention, which is my kind of gardening.

(24,804 posts)I do the purchasing of the plants and the watering. I love watering. We have no intention of setting up an automated drip system. It's a small garden, and it's a peaceful but small part of my day to go out and water them. The dogs like going out with me when I do it.
My other task is tearing it all out at the end of the season. And eating, of course.
