Is there ever a point where I can feel like I'm caught up?

Like maybe when I retire and can do nothing but work in the yard all day?

I still have three raised metal beds to assemble and place and fill.

I have baby hosta plants for an area in my yard that I’ve been eyeing for years but haven’t done anything with because of various construction projects. Now those are completed, and I bought some hostas. But, I need to move a bunch of flat pavers from one side of the property to the other to build up a back edge. Meanwhile the hostas are screaming at me to be planted.

I did a ton of winter sown containers this year. So many are sprouting and are almost ready to transplant. I’ve been trying to grab one or two a day to work into the yard/veggie garden but maybe, just maybe I planted too many? Dh still asks if I want empty milk jugs and of course I do. Of course.

Because next year I won’t be overwhelmed at all. Right?

Oh and I have a bunch more hosta roots coming. I shouldn’t have looked at Brecks, but my kid sent me a link to a beautiful dahlia and so I went down a rabbit hole. Might as well order some hostas while I’m picking up a dahlia tuber or five.

You will collect plants until you have completely landscaped the yard and then you will find the one plant

YOU.HAVE.TO.HAVE!!!!!

This will require moving many of the plants from their current homes creating a cascading effect of digging holes for at least a week.
I’m in withdrawal from gardening stores and Bakers seed catalog has been tossed. It’s hard but I’m taking it one day at a time.

i.e. dead and tucked into the ground. A gardener’s to do list is never done. But to me that is one of the joys of gardening. I have had to train myself to stop, pour a glass of something cold and tasty, go sit in my wisteria arbor swing, and enjoy the work I have accomplished.

My MO is to just tackle one thing, complete it, then move to the next, whatever that may be. My yard with it’s flower beds and raised bed veggie beds is extensive. And it is only me (a retired old lady 🤣 doing the work. Yesterday I planted a bed of sugar snap peas. Today I want to set out some lettuce and kale transplants which have been growing in my basement. And if I’m really efficient get the fence built around the peas so the critters won’t eat everything. I try not to think about all the stuff that I want (need) to get done and just focus on and enjoy the task at hand.

Love to see all of your hosts. I bet they are beautiful.

and when I went to a 2ftx3ft raised bed, it mocked me until I turned it all into a litter box for my cat

with my hands. When it gets too hot, I jump in my farm pond and cool off. Even then you'll see me swimming along the edges pulling weeds in the rocks that line the edge of my pond.
