I can't say I ever really understood why men were so enthusiastic about new machinery, until...

we got our new lawn mower. It took my daughter and I a much longer time than it should have to put together the handle, figure out the adjustable height, decide which feature (bagging, mulching, or discharge) we wanted and then put it in place. I jumped about three feet when the motor started with the new push button feature (something my husband wanted for me).

But with rear wheel drive and a great engine, I practically had to run to keep up with it, popped a few wheelies cornering (its rear wheel drive instead of front) and I laughed almost the whole time I mowed (now the neighbors know for sure I'm crazy) because I couldn't control it well enough to get a straight line. The front lawn looks like it went to the barber's for a bad mohawk hair cut.

Still, I'm psyched about our new machine!

Well, IMHO, speaking as a guy, because anything that helps you to do some chore on that never-ending "to do" list faster and easier is a Godsend.

a 1/2 inch monster with enough power to do everything, but it's small enough for my girly hands. It replaced an ancient 1/4 plug-in model. (insert grunting here)

I'm just not so good at the control yet. Separate lever for each hand too, but pull them both at the same time and my legs just kind of fly out in back! I'm not a very big person.
