Later this morning I'm planning on softboiled eggs, toast and tea.
We had a series of thunderstorms yesterday evening, there was a lot of grumbling clouds and at least 2 rounds of hail that did make me jump.

(23,129 posts)I put sliced tofu in a marinade yesterday, fried 4 slices in olive oil this morning. It sounded like bacon frying, and came out with a good flavor and texture. I didn't want to cook the egg in the same pan, so I cracked the egg into a microwave dish, added some cheese. All in all, a change of pace breakfast
I'll add tofu bacon to my line-up.

(23,129 posts)I used a 1/2 block. The recipe called for the whole block. I used the full measurements of the marinade ingredients:
6 TBS soy sauce
3 TBS maple syrup
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1 1/2 tsp (smoked) paprika (I used regular)
1 tsp liquid smoke ( I used more, maybe 2 tsp)
I mixed the ingredients in a plastic bag, added the sliced tofu, sealed and refrigerated. I turned the bag a few times. I fried the slices in olive oil. The recipe says 2-4 minutes a side. I was close to the higher time. One piece got pretty brown, but the others were just right
I drained on a bit of paper towel.
