What's for Dinner, Mon., Feb. 23, 2026

I made my own Old Bay seasoning so I'm having it on some flounder filets. I will serve them over tri-color quinoa.

The story of Old Bay seasoning is very interesting. I might post it later on C&B. Long story short: it was innovated by an immigrant.

To go with the flounder, cucumber-tomato salad with red onion and vinaigrette. Basil leaves over the top.

Kombucha, unflavored.

Dessert: mixed blackberries and melon.

There's a birthday party for one of our neighbors at a Peruvian restaurant. The menu is in Spanish and appears to be mostly seafood and chicken. The reviews give it high marks so I'm excited.

Later salad with ranch dressing.

Cher, I imagine you are buried in snow by now. Your snowstorm is all over the news.

Good Evening

In a lg mixing bowl add cubed sweet potatoes, sliced onions, celery, chopped green pepper, cauliflower florets, mushrooms, chopped scallions, parsley, and chickpeas tossed with olive oil, oregano, cayenne and fresh lemon juice. Bake covered in foil in a 9x13 inch roasting pan at 400 degrees for 60 minutes. Uncover and bake for another 15 minutes. Simple dish to prepare but it is incredibly delicious. Just popped it in the oven. Cheers!
Cher, I hope you’re doing ok with all that snow! We only got a couple inches here.

Why don't I ever remember to put black olives & artichoke hearts into the bagged salad mix?
I fixed a very very nice NY Strip steak, my sister made some knock out garlic bread.
No vampires here tonight.
